Derived from the boxing term "South Paw", meaning the alternative stance, SouthPour is a straight-talking coffee shop that goes against standard conventions. Tasked with developing both the branding and interior artwork for their first shop in Dubai’s City Walk, SouthPour needed to be scalable and feel like an established brand that felt youthful and energetic.

Targeting the coffee and juice market, the brand isn’t out to change the world – just do things on its own terms. Functional and playful typography is key to reinforcing this underlying philosophy.  A strong hero logo and vibrant typography set the tone for the store's exterior window vinyl, interior menu boards and packaging.

Creating a mascot - the rapid hare.

Constantly ‘on the go’, the hare symbolises SouthPour’s efficient, no-nonsense approach to coffee. Subtly featuring on branded products, its silliness helps to break down the prevalent elitist coffee stigma.

As the famous advertising executive Sir John Hegarty once said, "When the world zig's, zag." This philosophy is the cornerstone of SouthPour's branding, making it a coffee shop that stands out in a crowded market.
