Aprons and Hammers

Location
Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

Aprons and Hammers’ American-inspired seafood restaurant will soon be washing up on the shores of Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah following on from the acclaimed success of their defunct wooden dhow eatery at the Dubai International Marine Club and two current ‘brick and mortar’ stores in the neighbouring La Mer and Jumeirah Beach Residencies.

A third instalment will see the brand, which has been ever popular with locals, serve up its signature American coastal dishes within a playful beach house-inspired setting. Complete with hand-painted Portuguese “azulejos” inspired tiles, delicately restored wooden seating, warm white limewash walls and an eclectic collection of intricately patterned tactile surfaces, the interior subtly nods towards a timeless New England style.

CellarDoor’s orchestrated brand refresh, endearingly playing on American cuisine style sought to energise Aprons and Hammers, providing a modern, inviting aesthetic for which to develop the restaurant interiors.

Split between three levels, striped woven fabrics throughout echo the delicate blue and white kit kat tile configurations that line the pool bar. Cobalt blue terrazzo aggregates set in a white cementitious base subtly reference back towards the blue painted framework that proudly separates the restaurant from the hand painted white ceramic tiles clad theatre kitchen whilst semi opaque tensile solar shades unify both the pool bar and terrace.
